6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.
Colossians 2:6-7
Our Young Adult Ministry exists to equip and encourage the next generation of believers as they grow in Christ through spiritual transformation and fortification, personal and practical care, employment in service, and developing meaningful relationships. We seek to provide these for our college and career-oriented young adults in areas unique to their Christian walk.
More About Who We Are
Our primary purpose is spiritual transformation and fortification. We desire that our Young Adults have beliefs that have been anchored solidly in Christ as their personal savior and that what they have received in Christ would inform their growing walk of faith.
Other purposes: We want to see our Young Adults equipped and encouraged for life, growing in their love for God and His Word, serving, and deepening relationships with peers and other generations.

Benjamin was raised by Christian parents and found Christ as his savior at the age of four. He graduated from Shasta Bible College in Redding, CA and was married at Grace Baptist Church in 2010 to his wife Melissa. Together they moved to Tacoma, WA for Benjamin to attend Northwest Baptist Seminary (later merging with Corban in Salem, OR). In 2012 their son Micah was born. In 2013 Benjamin graduated from Seminary in WA and accepted a job at Shasta Bible College. Benjamin’s role there was predominately as Dean of Students. He also taught courses in Theology and Christian Ministry. In 2014 his daughter Evelyn was born, joined by his youngest son Isaiah in 2016. Benjamin and Melissa love the country, time with family, and coffee. Benjamin began his ministry at Grace Baptist Church in the Summer of 2018.
Our Hosts
Meet our gracious hosts. Each Monday we are in a different host home.

Crystal was raised in church with her seven siblings, she being the seventh child of eight. While attending a Vacation Bible School near her home she trusted Christ as her Savior at the age of eight. She attended Shasta Bible College in 1988 where she met and married her husband, Mike Alexander, and together they had seven children. She has been an ongoing homeschool mom and currently her youngest is finishing up high school. Mike and Crystal have been attending Grace Baptist Church since 1997.
Mike and sue Pellascio

Sue received Christ as Savior at age 6 and Mike at age 19. They have been blessed to be involved in ministry in churches wherever they’ve lived and especially with young adults. They are parents of 8 adult children and 15 grandchildren. Mike and Sue now work together in his law practice from their home. They enjoy kayaking and fishing, going to the family cabin in Colorado and look forward to having more involvement with the YAG!
Ed and Rachel Altizer
4th Monday
Ed and Rachel Altizer met at our church in Federal Way, WA. We married in 2019 and moved to Redding the following year to be closer to family. We found and fell in love with GBC in the fall of 2020 and joined the church a few months later. We are active in the Fellowship Group led by Dave Sprague and serve as co-facilitators in the GriefShare ministry at GBC, as well as others areas where needed. We thank God for His guidance and direction in our lives every day.
