Did you know that all believers are called to be biblical counselors?
Scripture tells us that believers are to admonish one another (Acts 20:31; Rom. 15:14; Col. 3:16), comfort one another with the truth of God’s Word (1 Thess. 4:18) and point each other to the Lord, who is the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1:3-7). Believers are to encourage one another and build each other up (1 Thess. 5:11; Heb. 3:13) and exhort each other (Acts 20:1-2).
Biblical Counseling at Grace
Biblical counseling is about offering guidance and counsel to others from the Word of God. We believe the Bible is sufficient to address all of the problems we face in life.
Our goal is to provide counseling to those in need, and to equip believers to be biblical counselors in the home and the church.
What is biblical counseling?
Biblical counseling is counsel from the Bible to address the variety of situations and circumstances that we find ourselves in. It is one of the ways we are discipled and grow in sanctification. The Bible is trustworthy and sufficient for all we need in life and godliness (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:3-4).
More about Biblical Counseling
God has positioned believers to have the ability and access into one another’s lives so that we may guide each other to Him and encourage each other in the application of His Word. Believers find themselves in a variety of settings and situations in need of biblical correction, instruction and encouragement (1 Thess. 5:14). Believers have a responsibility to show love and care for one another by providing encouragement, advice, wisdom and support, which we often call counseling.
