Hello, my name is Silas Thompson!
I have an opportunity this summer to travel with my church to a missionary exposure camp called Wayumi (wī yo͞o mē). The Wayumi Expedition and is a ministry of Ethnos 360 whose goal is to see a thriving church born for every people group now unreached with the Word of God. Did you know that more than 6000 of the world's people groups are still unreached? This one week expedition camp will teach me about what is involved in reaching these isolated people groups with the Gospel. Wayumi is located in Jersey Shore Pennsylvania and is a combination of classroom learning and activities simulating the hands on experiences of missionaries working tirelessly to reach these remote groups. We also get the added bonus of visiting the Answers in Genesis Ark Encounter and Creation Museum before Wayumi!

I am praying and working hard with my team to raise the funds needed to make this trip a reality by July 10th! Would you please consider partnering with me in prayer and financial support? This opportunity comes with a price tag of $1500 for each team member. My confidence is in the Lord's provision as we work toward this goal! You can learn more about our trip by clicking here: Wayumi 2025

ABout me

Hello! I am 16 years old and I am a sophomore in a homeschool program called Classical Conversations which has provided a classical curriculum for my homeschool journey my whole life.  I was born in Santa Cruz, Ca.  We lived in Santa Cruz til I was 4, we then moved to Hollister, Ca where we lived for 6 years.  We now live in Palo Cedro and have been here for 6 years. I live with my parents, 3 sisters, 5 goats, 1 sheep, 2 dogs, 2 cats a few chickens, and thirteen fish.  I enjoy living on 2 acres of land where we have had the opportunity to raise our food and care for animals.
I really enjoy: I enjoy archery, hunting with my dad, which has consistently proven to be hikes in the woods, fishing, cross country, track and field, studying and reading the Bible. I enjoy being the president of the Palo Cedro 4H club and I also participate in the Shasta County 4H shooting sports club.  Taking on an active role as a teen leader has helped grow me in many ways.

One interesting fact about me is: One interesting fact about me is that I took my first 3 online college courses through a college in Florida called Southeastern University last semester and I am taking 2 more college courses this semester. I have learned a lot by taking these college classes and they haven't been as hard as I had originally anticipated.

What I am looking forward to most about Wayumi: What I am most looking forward to about Wayumi is fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ and learning more about cross cultural missions. I am excited for this camp and hope that it will educate me more about my Creator, as well as make me more appreciative of the missionaries serving in other countries.
